Yo Gabba Gabba!

Has a children’s television show ever annoyed you so badly that you wanted to burst into tears? Is that same television show one that your toddler loves? And, is your love for your toddler the only thing keeping you from leaping at the screen, clawing at it with your fingernails, screaming? This is how I feel about “Yo Gabba Gabba!” a somewhat new children’s television show on Nick Jr. If I didn’t love my three-year-old so much, the show would be banned at my house. The host is a hyper young man wearing a huge orange wig who goes by … Continue reading

Day Trips From New York City

I love the Food Network. I have been a die-hard fan for years—-long before Giada, Paula Deen, and the Barefoot Contessa came on the scene. I’ve been glued since Bobby Flay engaged in his first battle against Jack McDavid on Grillin’ and Chillin’. I’ve been hooked since the Two Hot Tamales whipped up their very first champurrado. And, of course, I became a true blue Iron Chef fan since the instant I saw chef Masaharu Morimoto whack the heck out of a fresh lobster. When the famous Japanese chef opened his new restaurant, Morimoto, in Philadelphia I was so disappointed. … Continue reading

Dora The Explorer

Our second foster placement was a toddler girl who loved to crawl into the guest room bed and watch cartoons on Noggin, which is now NickJr. It was with Gemini that I learned what Nickelodeon had to offer beyond Blue’s Clues and NickToons. Gemini loved Dora The Explorer and I was grateful that she watched it in a room I wasn’t in. I didn’t know why I didn’t like Dora; I just didn’t. I enjoyed Go, Diego, Go, and it was basically the same who with Dora’s male cousin. Maybe it was Dora’s voice. When Jessie came into our life … Continue reading

High Five

My toddler has learned something new. That’s not an accurate representation. More accurately, she’s learned it again and being able to say the words is new. She’s so excited about it too. All of that together makes it a novelty for her and something that she just can’t stop doing. Jessie goes around asking everyone for a high-five. There is no act to trivial for a high-five. No person unworthy of a high-five. Jessie tries to get Baby E to high five her. Baby E has no idea what’s going on, but that doesn’t stop Jessie. When Jessie does this … Continue reading

Tom Brady Ties the Knot with Supermodel Gal Pal

After denying, denying, denying, their plans to make their relationship official, Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady made the trip down the aisle last night. According to reports, the couple wed Thursday just before 6 p.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church in front of a handful of close family members and friends. The intimate ceremony was capped off by an appearance by Brady’s 18-month-old son John Edward Thomas Moynahan. The boy’s mom, Bridget Moynahan, who was famously dumped by Brady while pregnant, was a no show. As for the bride’s dress, Bundchen reportedly donned a Dolce & Gabbana form-fitting ivory lace … Continue reading

It’s out with the old and in with the new for country music star Sara Evans.
