Alison Palmer, up until recently a blogger in Health for Families.com, is also a published author. She wrote the popular "Sharing Through Song" series, and you can read my recent review here.
I asked Alison what she likes to read, and she provided me with a really nice, juicy list.
Alison's favorite children and young adult books are:
"Artemis Fowl" by Eoin Colfer
"Confessions of Super Mom" by Melanie Lynne Hauser
"Dealing with Dragons" by Patricia C. Wrede
"Deliver Us From Normal" by Kate Klise
"Dragon Song" by Anne McCaffrey
"Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie" by Jordan Sonnenblick
"Ella Enchanted" by Carson Levine (see review here)
"Fame, Glory and Other Things on My To-Do List" by Janette Rallison
"The First Part Last" by Angela Johnson
"Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" by J. K. Rowling (see review here)
"The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" by C. S. Lewis (read review here)
"Pyromancer" by Don Callander
"Rules" by Cynthia Lord
"Surviving the Applewhites" by Stephanie S. Tolan
"Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer
Each of these are national releases.
Alison also enjoys reading LDS fiction. Here are some of her favorites:
"By Morning Light" by Rachel Ann Nunes (see my interview with Rachel here)
"Charly" by Jack Weyland (see my review on Jack Weyland here)
"The First Year" by Crystal Liechty (see Crystal's favorites list here)
"House of Secrets" by Jeffery S. Savage (see my review here)
"Make Me a Memory" by Tamra Norton (see my review here, and my interview here)
"My Mom's a Mortician" by Patricia Wiles
"My Not So Fairy Tale Life" by Julie Wright
"On Second Thought" by Robison Wells (see my interview with Robison here)
"Out of the Shadows...Into the Light" by Candace E. Salima (see my review here, and interview here)
"Stone Tables" by Orson Scott Card
"The Ten-Cow Wives Club" by Joni Hilton
"This Just In" by Kerry Blair (see my review here)
"Unsung Lullaby" by Josi S. Kilpack (see my review here, and my interview with Josi here)
And there you have it - a great list of fiction, recommended by an author who is also a voracious reader. You'd better get busy - this list might take you a little while!

I've been a blogger for Families.com since August of 2006.

""The paintings have a unique vivid look, and also feel very magical and otherworldly."
"' An author takes a real situation and plays "what if" with it, arriving at a work of fiction that, while not documenting an actual event, might just as well ' I'd argue anything a writer comes up with lacks the detail and refinement of any real event, and therefore goes as far as to indicate nothing of reality."
