Did you see all the great blogs here in Media Reviews last week? In case you missed them, here's a recap.

In "The Day Before Christmas," Tristi reviewed the story of a girl who goes to see The Nutcracker ballet with her grandfather, reliving a tradition he had with her own mother, now passed away. This is a touching holiday tale, as is "The Fourth Wise Man," a picture book retelling of the classic story by Henry Van Dyke.

Who will brave the winter blizzard to come out to Christmas services? More people than you might think, as we discover in the children's picture book "Coming Through the Blizzard."

Tristi tells us that Brandon Sanderson has been chosen to finish "The Wheel of Time" series by Robert Jordan, and Lauri shows us a darling pop-up book using the themes of Christmas to teach us the alphabet. She also brings us "The Gingerbread Baby," a darling Christmas story with even cuter cookie illustrations.

"The Mysterious Benedict Society" is a middle-grade suspense novel about four children selected to infiltrate a school where children are used to help bring down the world - a great read for those of any age.

To continue with the Christmas theme, we read "Santa's Last Present" about a boy who's too big to believe in Santa . . . almost. And in "Merry Christmas, Curious George!" we see what that funny monkey does when he's accidently delivered via Christmas tree to the children's hospital. He always gets in trouble, but he always makes the best of his circumstances!

Tristi had a lot of fun reading and reviewing "Beneath a Marble Sky," and the following day she had the privilege of interviewing the author, John Shors. She also took us on a trip to the North Pole in "Auntie Claus" and snuck a peek at Santa in "One Creature was Stirring." We hope you'll be able to join us next week for another seven days of Media Reviews here on Families.com.
