Taiko Drum Masterby Emily Price | More from this Blogger 07 Apr 2006 01:21 PM For those of you familiar with Dance Dance Revolution Taiko Drum Master works under the same principles. The controller for the game is a large plastic drum rather than a handheld controller. During game play a song will play and a bar will tell you when to hit the drum. The more accurately you hit the drum the higher your score. A toy store was going out of business in my town and I picked this game up for 75% off, which in my opinion was a steal. The game comes packaged with the controller, which is a definite plus over DDR, where in most cases you have to purchase each item separately. The one downside to this game is the obvious: It's loud. If you purchase your children this game you're signing up to have a drum in the house. Not just a drum, but also a drum attached to a reasonably loud video game. The drum itself is made out of plastic and has plastic sticks so if your kids will be playing in a room a small distance from where you will be then it may not be much of an issue. It is not a game you want them playing in the living room right beside the kitchen where you're preparing dinner however. You and your kids can play along with well known songs such as: ABC That's The Way (I Like It) Lady Marmalade Toxic Walking on Sunshine Tubthumping I'm a Believer American Girls William Tell Overture It can be a fun game to teach your children some musical basics like beats and rhythm. The game has a pretty simple interface and is a decent way to start creating your own little rock star. You can purchase Taiko Drum Master from most video game stores or from Amazon.com Learn more about Emily Price ![]() Emily is a freelance writer and video editor in Raleigh NC.
