Welcome to the world of a Brigham Young University co-ed, where the emphasis is supposed to be on education, but is actually on the cute guys in the next dorm. In an atmosphere where dating is the thing to do, it's hard when all your friends are in serious relationships and you're, well, not.

Samantha Skyler is twenty-five years old, practically an old maid by BYU standards. Her former relationship just didn't work out, and now she's looking for the perfect guy. The problem is, how to find him and how to hook him. Her roommates find themselves in similar situations, and so with the help of Harrison Bean, a student in their ward, they devise a game to help them each land a fiancé within a certain amount of time. By keeping a list of stats on a chart in the kitchen, they track how many encounters they have with the object of their desire. Cheering each other on, they concentrate on their goal, only to find that maybe what they really wanted isn't what they thought at all.

Join Sam and her ex-boyfriend Marcus as they debate the relative virtues of Sponge Bob vs. Arthur, apparently one of the major reasons for their break-up. Visit Sam's apartment as she teaches new members of the ward how to kick the hook that dangles on a string from her ceiling, a single's ward tradition complete with a hall of fame. Watch Sam climb through a kitchen window for reasons that you'll find too hysterical to believe.

Author Stephanie Fowers brings to life the crazy, day-to-day shenanigans that take place on a college campus, making us as readers wonder how anyone ever manages to graduate from one of these places. Breaking into the world of LDS chick-lit (a fairly new genre) Fowers is sure to win the hearts of her readers with her quick wit, great turn of phrase, and down to earth approachability. I enjoyed the book quite a bit and look forward to the next release from this author.
