The Confession is by well known Beverly Lewis and is about an Amish family, secrets, and shuning. "Firstborn" by Robin Lee Hatcher is a Christian novel about an unplanned pregnancy, lifelong secrets, and forgiveness. "Dragonflight" is a popular science fiction book by Anne McCaffrey. For picture books, consider Treasure Hunt by Allan Ahlberg, a charming book about what and who are really treasures in our lives. "Blueberries for Sal" is a classic and well-loved picture book about a little girl, her mother, and two bears who get mixed up on a blueberry picking trip. The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis is recommended for middle graders. It's the story of a girl in Afghanistan posing as a boy to earn money for her family. The Cam Jansen mystery books are great first chapter books. "The Dangerous Book of Boys" has all kinds of activities, games, and general knowledge.
