Jan Brett is a well known children's author and illustrator. Her artwork is beautiful and unique. She shares it for free on her website, www.janbrett.com, with over four thousand pages of activities, coloring pages, drawing instructions, games, and projects that are sure to educate and entertain children for hours.

You can view video instructions for drawing hedgehogs, polar bears, lions, elephants, chickens, bunnies, and even gingerbread babies. You'll even find some recipes, and craft instructions.

Online games include a concentration game, a scrambler, and interactive coloring pages. My favorites though are the chance to decorate a Christmas tree and gingerbread house with Jan Brett drawings. You click on an ornament or candy, then drag it to where you want to place it on your tree or house. You can print these out when you are done.

And speaking of printing - that is really where this site is outstanding. Break out the color print cartridge; you are going to need it! I love the printable Noah's ark, a 3D Gingerbread Baby house, and advent calendar. These are so beautiful and detailed they enchant adults as well as children.

Educators will love the phonogram and Dolch flash cards, the sight word cards, the math fact games and flashcards, the manuscript and print tracing pages, book covers, lesson plans, hall passes, signs for the classroom, and even calendar pages. Everything includes Jan Brett's marvelous artwork. The site also has borders and design elements for bulletin boards, greeting cards and postcards which you can design and print, bookmarks, awards, and even holiday themed placemats.

There are many printable coloring pages, dot to dot puzzles, and mazes. These are great for rainy days, doctor visits, and travel. And I love the instructions for making a mural. Printable design elements are provided. A coloring mural sounds like a great summer or classroom activity.
