Hannah Montana The Movie

I recently had the opportunity to take my seven-year-old daughter to see Hannah Montana. To be honest I was not looking forward to the experience, since I do not generally enjoy the television show. However I was pleasantly surprised to find that I did enjoy the movie. The comedy worked well against the overall story.

In the movie Miley is becoming too focused on being Hannah. The stardom is going to her head and she gets in a fight with Tyra at a store. She also shows up at her best friend's Lily's sixteenth birthday party as Hannah and completely ruins the party. To make matters worse tabloid writing is trying to uncover what Hannah is hiding from the world.

Miley has the opportunity to perform at the World Music Awards in New York, but her father puts her foot down and makes her go back to Tennessee to visit family. The rest of the story goes through Miley reconnecting with her past and grounding herself again. There is a love interest, Travis Brody who helps her with this journey.

The movie has a great theme about the importance of family and staying connected with the most important things in life. There are several different musical numbers throughout the show. My daughter especially enjoyed them. One song in particular stood apart from the rest, "The Climb" is a song that Miley has released under her own name and is done with a more country style than most Hannah songs. It is a good song, and my favorite one of the entire movie.

This is a great movie for fans of the show. It is clean, fun, and the action continues to move forward throughout the entire show. The movie did not have any slow parts. The comedy helps to lighten some of the heavier scenes. Parents should also be able to tolerate the movie since there is a deeper message conveyed.
