Three Seasonal “Biscuit” Books – Alyssa Satin Capucilli

When my twins were little, we loved the Biscuit books by Alyssa Satin Capucilli and Pat Schories. These gentle stories all feature a cute, silly puppy named Biscuit and his owner. His owner is never named, but referred to as “the little girl”. These are great stories for emerging readers and younger children. Even the youngest child can say “woof, woof” along with biscuit. A Tiger Called Thomas is a sweet, non-scary Halloween story. Charlotte Zolotow is one of my favorite children’s book authors. In the story, Thomas moves to a new neighborhood. He is too shy to go play with anyone, so he sits on his porch and watches the world go by. His mother urges him to go play and make friends, but he is convinced that no one will like him.
