Now that Halloween is this week, I may break down and let the kids carve their pumpkins. We have three small pumpkins for the kids to decorate individually, as well as one larger one for the family to do together. The kids have been begging us to turn them into jack-o-lanterns. Well I must be immature because I find Plush-o-rama: Curious Creatures for Immature Adults hysterical and completely charming. The book includes projects for monsters, creatures with tentacles and third eyes, star shapes, cushions with teeth, octopus, gremlins, a cross between a pig and a duck, a “catzilla” and a bipolar cloud. I love sticky notes. I have a collection of different sizes, shapes, and colors. I never thought about folding them though, until I saw Sticky Note Origami: 25 Designs to Make at Your Desk. In my fourteen years as a mother, I’ve browsed through a lot of craft books. It’s rare that I find one with what I consider to be unique ideas. Crafts For Little Kids: (101 really, really, really fun ideas!) from Better Homes and Gardens has some great and unique ideas for bringing out small children’s’ creative sides.
