This fun children’s picture book is a little bit older than the ones I usually review, published in 1989 which by book standards is pretty ancient. The title of this children’s picture book brought me up short when I saw it at the library, and then I just had to pick it up. I loved it. Little Achilles Crocodile has always eaten bananas for his breakfast, and every morning, his mother compliments him on how big and strong he’s getting. Pictures of Hollis Woods is a Newbery Honor book from author Patricia Reilly Giff. It’s the story of a foster child who grows into herself and finds a family. Don’t miss the well loved picture book The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear by husband and wife team Don and Audrey Wood.
