Scrapbook A Funeral?

I have always thought it odd when people take pictures at a funeral. But, I guess it is a time when a lot of people that normally aren’t together, get together. So, many times, photos are taken. When my Mother-in-Law passed away, there was definitely a lot of picture taking going on. While, I did not bring my own camera, I do have some photos from that day. What should one do about scrapping them? In our case, I wanted to make a book of remembrance for my husband so that on those days when he was really missing his … Continue reading

How to Create a Sketch for a Scrapbook Layout

I see sketches every where for scrapbooking layouts. They are on blogs, in challenges, swaps, contests, magazines. I was wondering, how does one go about making one of those sketches??? It might be easier than you would think. I am still learning. In fact, I just played around with it the first time last night. But, it was so much easier than I would have expected, and my computer software is pretty much ancient history. In fact, I think they have outlawed it because it is so old. But, I managed to squeak out a little pre-made sketch on my … Continue reading

Picking a Title for Your Scrapbook Layout

Sometimes picking a title for your layout is the hardest part of all. Or maybe this is just me? But, often, I will work on a layout and complete everything but the title, and still be completely stumped. Usually, I like the title to be a little different, but also to give you a feeling for what the page is all about. Using words like sweet, precious, adorable, etc. can get a little old after you’ve been scrapbooking for over 10 years. So many times, you have to get creative! But, that is the point of scrapbooking right? Here are … Continue reading

My Scrapbooking Week In Review- October 4th-October 9th

This week has been a great week for me for scrapbooking. The previous week, my dear daughter had a horrible stomach bug, and not much was done in the way of scrapbooking or doing anything else really except taking care of her! I am glad that is over, and that she is feeling better. So, this week, I wanted to jump right in and get some scrapbooking done again. I got several layouts done for my scrapbooks and had a lot of fun writing about the following topics: October 4th-Confessions of a Messy Scrapbooker A fun post about my scrap … Continue reading

About Homeschool Drama Clubs

We spent the last week embroiled in my son’s drama club production of The Secret Garden. He had little time for any other kind of work as tech week is rather intensive. There was a full day of practices as well as several dress rehearsals, and finally three shows at the end of the week. While they weren’t exactly doing math, grammar, and Spanish during this past week, It was clear that they never stopped learning. One girl carried around a College entrance exam book to study during down times. Others learned from hands on experience with sound boards and … Continue reading
