The Baby Einstein Company has created many fun ways for our children to learn about the world around them. With their selection of videos, CD's, books, and toys, this company is an educational wonder! One of the videos that they have created is called "Baby Neptune: Discovering Water." This video teaches your child all about the wonders of water and even some of the animals they might find in water.

The host of "Baby Neptune" is a turtle with a mask and snorkel. He appears all throughout the video, helping to introduce each segment. He plays with the duck and octopus, building sand castles on the beach or playing on the sand with a beach ball. The turtle is by far one of my favorite characters and one of my daughter's as well.

"Baby Neptune" takes your child through the ocean, on rivers and lakes, and even in puddles and in the bathtub. Your child will learn about whales and dolphins that swim in the ocean and that the sand next to the ocean is called a beach. Otters are shown swimming in rivers and boats are seen sailing across lakes. Children are shown playing in the bathtub with toys and splashing through puddles in the rain. Everything is accompanied by vivid toys, real-life images and video, and the awesome music of Beethoven, Handel, Strauss and Telemann. My daughter's favorite scene is the duck puppet in the bathtub with squeaking rubber ducks. The duck quacks in tune with Strauss's "Blue Danube Waltz."

"Baby Neptune: Discovering Water" is a fun way to help teach your child about the water around them. Not only will s/he learn about the different places to find water, but s/he will also learn about what you can find in and around water. "Baby Neptune" has won awards, including Parents' Choice "Parents' Choice Recommended" in 2003 and the Gold Award National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) for Children's Resources.

In addition to the DVD or VHS, there are toys, books, and other educational supplements to this video available for purchase from The Baby Einstein Company. Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon, and other retailers also sell Baby Einstein products.
