ABC Family Network Redeems Itselfby Jaime Egan | More from this Blogger 28 Nov 2006 07:53 PM Since my Halloween rant was thrust upon ABC Family, I felt that I owed it to them to write about the specials that they are showing in light of the holiday season. This time of year brings on ABC Family's "25 Days of Christmas." Beginning December 1, ABC Family will run Christmas classics, original holiday movies, and movie favorites through Christmas Day. "25 Days of Christmas" kicks off Friday, December 1 at 7:00p.m. with "Frosty's Winter Wonderland." In this holiday animated classic, Frosty is supposed to get married, but Jack Frost has other plans. December 2 starts a Harry Potter marathon of sorts. Saturday, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" will be featured, followed by "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." On Sunday December 3, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" will be shown for the first time on ABC Family, along with sneak previews of the new Harry Potter movie -- "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix." The rest of the week of December 4-9 will hold more holiday classics featuring everyone's favorite reindeer -- Rudolph. In "Rudolph's Shiny New Year" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys," the famous reindeer goes on adventures from helping to find the Baby New Year to foiling an evil toymaker's plan to ruin Christmas. That weekend will hold a grand present -- the ABC Family premier of "The Polar Express." ABC Family's "25 Days of Christmas" will feature animated and live-action movies, including the Mary-Kate and Ashley favorite "To Grandmother's House We Go." One of my personal holiday favorites, "Scrooged" starring Bill Murray, will also be shown -- the edited version, of course. I also can not wait for the premier of the ABC Family original movie "Santa Baby." Even though some movies featured are not exactly holiday movies -- like "Mary Poppins" and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," they are still movies that you and your family can enjoy together. If I can forgive ABC Family for their Halloween misgivings, so can you. Please watch ABC Family's "25 Days of Christmas" and share in the joy of the holiday season.
