Blogs have only been around for the last little while. They first appeared in 1993, gained a little in popularity in 1997, but in 1999 they really took off. Today, it's estimated that two new blogs are created every second, with 1.6 million postings a day, which come out to 18.6 posts per second.

We all remember Clay Aiken as the nerdy young American Idol contestant back in 2003. His hair stuck up at wild angles, his striped shirt was anything but "rock star," and Simon couldn't stand him. When a wild card contestant was chosen, Paula dug in her heels and insisted they use Clay.

I love reading books from Bethany House. I know I'm going to get a good story without the objectionable content I might find from other publishers. "A Bride Most Begrudging" didn't disappoint. The year is 1643.

Marcia Brown won a Caldecott Medal in 1947 for her version of an old French folktale, Stone Soup. This is a great story of ingenuity and cooperation. In the story, three soldiers are returning home from the wars. They are tired and haven't had any food for two days.

"More More More", Said the Baby: Three Love Stories is a great book for the littlest book lover. This Caldecott Honor book by Vera B. Williams captures those special, silly, tender moments between toddlers and the people that love them.

This fun and flirty television show caught my attention right off. Fran Drescher stars as Fran Fine, a rough-around-the-edges girl from Queens who's been working in a bridal shop. Her boyfriend, owner of the shop, decides to break up with her and gives her job to someone else.

Just when you think the Internet couldn't get any cooler, it does. I recently started using Google Alerts. It's a fascinating tool that allows you to choose a topic you're interested in and be alerted anytime a blog is written on that topic or a website mentions it.
